BAGUA
As noted on the Feng
Shui Home Page The BLACK HAT SECT SCHOOL
or BAGUA SCHOOL uses the BAGUA:
This
is a modern version of Feng Shui developed in the USA as a hybrid of Tibetan
Buddhism, Taoism and traditional Feng Shui. In this school a Pa Kua (often
called the BaGua) is used, but it is based on the direction of the
Front Door. The Bagua is a template designed to enable us to encourage
beneficial CHI to flow freely through our homes. The Bagua helps
to divide the The House or Room into eight sectors, each one having a bearing
on an aspect of life that might need enhancing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IS THE BAGUA?
Translated
the Feng Shui Bagua means "eight trigrams." The Feng Shui tool consists
of eight areas along with the center that make up the nine categories of
life. Every environment can be divided into nine sections, each with a
corresponding symbolic meaning to a specific area of our life. The
Bagua tool is used to determine which areas of your space correspond to
the eight energy types of Feng Shui. It is an octagon that can be
stretched to fit any room, building, or piece of property. The nine
sectors can be seen below on our BAGUA. The nine unique sectors
are wealth, fame/recognition (rank), marriage/partnership, children/creativity,
helpful people/travel, career/ life path, wisdom/ self-cultivation, family
and health
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the BAGUA
used for?
The
Bagua can help in determining the most efficient placement of furniture,
how an area with impeded energy flow can be freed, and which area of your
space needs improvements depending on which corresponding area of your
life you would like to improve. By determining which area of your space
is the Wealth area, you can then employ any number of Feng Shui "fixes"
to help encourage your own prosperity.

More about BAGUA:
Simple,
low-cost adjustments to the energy of an environment are made by repositioning
furniture and accessories, or using color, shapes and the Five Elements.
In Chinese culture, these important elements are: Fire, Water, Earth, Metal,
and Wood. Each of these are represented in a different "Gua" or trigram
section of the BaGua, with specific attributes, such as color and direction.
By adjusting the elements, many different areas are simultaneously changed
and corresponding improvements occur in related areas of our lives. Many
solutions or cures are interchangeable to fit personal needs and tastes,
as long as Feng Shui elemental balance is maintained.

WHAT
DO THE LINES (TRIGRAMS) ON THE BAGUA MEAN?
Each
Trigram
consists of three male or female lines; and combined in various combinations;
the Trigram symbolizes heaven, earth, water, fire dampness, wind thunder
or mountains. The lines forming these Trigrams represent either
Yin (0), female or Yang (1), male force of nature. Yin (0), female,
is two short little lines with a gap in between. Yang, male, is one continuous
line.

WHAT IS A KUA
NUMBER & HOW TO FIND YOUR
KUA NUMBER (PERSONAL
ELEMENT):
Your
Kua Number is derived from the year of your birth - dependent on being
either male or female. From it you can ascertain your best directions
for sleeping, working and for anywhere else that you may spend a significant
amount of time. A complete Feng Shui analysis will use the Kua numbers
of all occupants.
The Kua
Number of your home can be determined by the direction that it faces (which
is not necessarily the same direction as your front door - especially if
your home is in an apartment!) Using the Kua Number of your home
and your personal Kua Number (& that of your partner, if applicable)
it is possible to determine the best placement of your bed, your desk,
your favorite chair, etc.. With the addition of a geopathic stress
analysis of your home - The Geomancer can optimize the chi that surrounds
you - creating a positive environment created just for you!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CALCULATE YOUR
KUA NUMBER
To calculate
your Kua number use this simple formula. Take the last two numbers
of the year you were born and add them together. Reduce them down to a
single digit. For example if you were born in 1958 then you take the 58;
5+8=13; 1+3=4.
MALE
- take the single digit and subtract it from 10. Example: 1958 single number
of 4; 10-4=6. The Kua number is 6.
FEMALE
- take the single digit and add 5. Using the 1958 single number of 4; 4+5=9.
The Kua number is 9.
Your
Kua will help to determine your type of energy and tell you the directions
which are favorable to you. There are two groups of people : those from
the East Houses and those from the West Houses. People
from the same group are more compatible. It's easier for them to
choose a home or the position of their bed, because they have the same
good or bad directions.
If
your Kua number is 1,3,4 or 9,
you belong to the East Houses.
If
your Kua number is 2,6,7 or 8
you belong to the West Houses
